Join Kristin Smedley for a Special Braille Experience & Book Reading Event

what I can be is up to me Autor Adventure at Northampton Township Library

Exciting news for families in Bucks County!

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, I will be hosting a very special event at the Children’s Library in the Free Library of Northampton Township.

I’m thrilled to be reading my award-winning children’s book, What I Can Be Is Up To Me—a story that encourages kids to believe in themselves and dream big! After the reading, we have even more fun in store!

What to Expect:

  • Interactive Braille Activities: Children of all ages can get hands-on with braille, the literacy tool for the blind, and learn how it helps the blind and visually impaired read and explore the world of books.
  • Tour of the Braille Collection: After the activities, take a tour of the library’s braille collection in the children’s section—a treasure trove of stories for all readers, whether sighted or blind.
  •

This is a free event that’s perfect for families and children of all ages. Come out and celebrate literacy and inclusion with us!

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, October 5, 2024
  • Time: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Location: Children’s Library, Free Library of Northampton Township

About Kristin Smedley
Hi! I’m Kristin, and I didn’t have a parenting playbook to read, so I wrote a remarkable story.

The first blind people I ever met were my newborn sons. What felt like a major curveball to me was simply life to them. That moment flipped everything I thought I knew about adversity, success, and leadership. Since then, I’ve helped teams, families, and organizations redefine what’s possible, on their terms.

If life has thrown you a curveball – in parenting, personally or professionally – you’re in the right place. I’m not here with theories. I’m here with a code, a proven, practical set of plays I’ve used to raise extraordinary kids, influence global research, and coach others to thrive when it matters most. It’s called the THRIVE Code, and it works under pressure.

Because thriving isn’t about avoiding the hard stuff, it’s about learning how to lead through it.

Let’s build your comeback… stronger, faster, and clearer than you thought possible.
